To: My Netties. I'm not gonna rant about how badly i wanna drink or eat cold stuff, i'm not going complain about my ankle, i'm not gonna bitch about anyone. This post, is dedicated to my netballers, my dearest teammates. Riverside Netball B'division 2009 is, i cannot say, the strongest team ever. But i can say, to me, it is the best team ever. We don't shoot like machine guns, we don't have monsterous built, we don't get all the rebound, but, we love one another and care for one another genuinely. We dd not start off well of course. After the secondary 3s and 4s combined last year, we were a very unbonded team. Pretending to be Timmy Turner, i'm imaginating what have my fairy god-parents done to turn that team i saw last year, to the closely bonded team now. Honestly, i don't know what happened, neither do i know what was done. But i do know that after training together for many months, we don't see a group of girls playing netball. We see a team. All the flashback is making me tear. We have been through North Zone together. Played well together, had long debrief together, cried together and get injured together. We pat on our teammate's shoulder and them that they did a good job when they deserve it. We comment on each other's play so that we all improve together. We cheer each other on during games, regardless of whether we're on court or not. We scream and jump together when we win. We cheer each other up and work harder together when we lose. In this team, not only the people on court work hard, the people outside the court, work equally hard too. My sis ever told me that she admired those teammates of mine who were not playing but cheering very very hard outside the court. I replied with " Of course, they're my teammates." and didn't say much. But now, i'm gonna tell you guys how proud i am of you guys. I am extremely proud that i have such teammates who, do not get to play but still, turn up for every training, every match. I am extremely proud to have such teammates who, cheer and starts jumping outside the court when the game gets really tight. I am extremely proud that every single teammate of mine believe in the goal of the team and everyone worked towards that common goal. I am extremely proud that i have a awesome team manager like Elysia who get everything settled for us and make sure we have everything we need for our training and matches. Elysia, you're the best! The match against Marsiling during our North Zone, we lost by 1. Everyone fought well and i know it was a very good play. The first person who cried is not any of the first team, it was our dearest team manager, Boon Yain. She is the one who cared genuinely for the team and have always been part of the team even though she didn't get to play. Yes Boon Yain, i am really proud of you. During the Spring Carnival on saturday, everyone played super super super well. I can tell you guys that we deserve those trophies and we deserve that championship. PeiTing, Rowena and Chelsea's shooting was accurate. PeiTing's moves were funky! ZiEn's drive were near perfect. ShuLi's timing was good. Juaen and ZhaoYi's feeding was awesome. HuiYi, Hsing Yi, Ong Chin, Debbie and Wenzi's defence were fantastic. Wenzi and YiHui = Great Partnership = Flawless defence. Yes girls, if i can continue giving you guys 3 cheers, it'll go on for weeks. Girls, those messages telling each other to take care, drink lotsa water, rest well and complimenting each other were the most touching messages ever. It may be just a simple rest well but it actually brightens up one another's day. It actually urge me to do more for the team as a captain and working harder as a player. There is never once i dread training. It's not the CCA, it's the people and the love for sports. I'm sure many of you feel the same too. We'll go down before focus to check the juniors out. We'll chiong down immediately after focus and join the training. We may sometimes complain that it's tiring but never once did i hate training. It was you guys who made trainings enjoyable. I guess i have to stop here or else i would have nothing to say during farewell. Haha. Anyway, before i end off, i just want to tell you guys that you guys were awesome and you guys have been the best teammates EVER. Love you girls! |
