Sports camp 2008!

Camp's fun la~!

Training in the morning and joined 3/6 for physics. Thanks lots to XinYing and Joel for waiting! From joel's blog:

Mr Low just keep on calling me "Man Low" and yeap, he got a new name too. " Women Low". Nice name isn't it?

Lunch-ed and went for the talk by Mr C Kunalan, one of Singapore's best athelete! He's a uber cool guy and the talk is really inspiring. Learnt quite a lot and it'll definitely help myself as a sportsman and also as a person.

Farewell tea was next. PIZZA and BANANA CAKE! It was really filling. Then i started off playing scissors paper stone with people and loser have to eat chilli( half pack). HAHA. I was owning till i lost to Debbie if i'm not wrong. I practically swollowed the chilli. Smart move! (: Come on man. Ketchup rocks! Then we have the captain VS captain scissors paper stone. I lost to Haiza and gotta eat 3 piece of banana cake when i have already eaten 2. DIE~ Thanks Pearly, PeiXin and Sabinah for helping me with the 3 pieces. (:

After that, everyone joined in the electrostatic game. Really nice to have the whole team playing together and yeap, every game has loser and winner but as a team, we did the chicken dance together. That's the netball spirit!Debriefed by PT and myself. It was all impromptu. PT's idea. LOL.Did netball cheer, took photos and left. Went cwp to find joel and zj. Slacked around~

Camp was cool today. Training in the morning and left for physics lesson together with joel and ong chin. Then was lunch with joel and moses. Mr Low joined too! We were practically crapping around.
Tug of war with farid~LOL. He snatched my towel!! I won anyway. geez!

Next was First-Aid talk by st john members. I think CuiPing and Ben did a great job in explaining, demonstrating and answering our doubts. After first aid talk was scavenger hunt. Grouped with Debbie, Elysia, PeiXuan, JieMin, Joel, Moses, Nadirah and Nabilah. Haha. Gotta tie our hands together and go around the whole school to find stuff according to alphabetical order! We started off with decoding and our group was the last few to finish decoding the code but we find items really fast that we finished 2nd! Well done man! Thanks to all who'd helped!

Team skipping was the last event and it was fun! Our group managed to complete 20 jumps! One and only group that manage to do it! WAHAHAH. I think it's a great way to build teamwork and it does help in improving timing! Shall do it more often. (:

Physics prac!

MICHELLE! I'm sorry!

I was suppose to meet michelle at 9 for breakfast at mac and i was late AGAIN! Sorry girl! Joel was there and he complained that he waited too. Right... To joel: Sorry girl!

Left for school and they were already there for the FYE meeting and we're just on time for physics. By the time we reached physics lab, we were already late. Hah. Physics prac was okay but i prefer cutting potatoes to straining our eyes trying to poke holes on the paper.

Went yoshi for Lunch after physics with weiloke,kaiyuan,xinying and isabel. Then it started raining and the 3 of them have got to chiong-ed to school the rain. Xinying and i was taking our own sweet time strolling in the shelter! hah! The rain was super heavy and so i went to xinying's place.Started off with organ then to her room. Played psp and lame games on her lappy. It was really fun!

Then we basketball in the evening together with joel. (:

Two choices

Two Choices

What would you do?....you make the choice. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice ?

At a fund raising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son ?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball.
Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play ?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play.
The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.
In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game ? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first ! Run to first !'
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!' Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally t hrew the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third! Shay, run to third !'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!' Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:
We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things.'
So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:
Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process ?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

First holiday bio lesson~

SIYING! I'm sorry!

I was late today and resulting to us late for bio lesson. But the good thing is that we're not the latest. Many started coming in a while later after we arrived. So well, bio lesson was okay. New chapter and it looks like there's more memorising job to do.

Went for training right after lesson. I so don't enjoy it okay. Passes was bad, and instructions were not followed. Pumping is what you people deserve. The extra 1 hour of training of passes is not just tiring for you guys but it is as tiring or in fact, more tiring for the seniors. So please, focus and be serious during training and i mean it.

One thing i'm really proud of myself is i managed to sit myself in front of my desk and do CHINESE homework. Finished one piece of comprehension and yup, felt great. Basketball-ed in the evening with zijian, joel and halim. (:

Grandma's birthday!

Today's Grandma's birthday. (:
Went Austin Hill Resort for dinner. Love da place. Buffet catered to our family( only!) beside this open space where we could get out and play! What's more, the place totally belong to us! geeez. We could see the whole golf course from up there! Cam whored with my lil cousins and yup, really enjoyed!

Saturday. First Youth For Earth meeting with mentors.

Meeting with mentors today was great. Met siying and went QiHua together. It was suppose to be in school but venue changed to QiHua and i don't know why. Then Eugene, Vinus and James came a while later. We have had quite a short meeting, just 1 hour plus and went off for bubble tea! (:

Couldn't lunch with Eugene and James cause i have to rush for service and yeap, I missed the first 2 points and reached in time for the last point. Which means, i was really late~ District meet after service was fun and we got our pre-camp devotion!(:

Parents Meeting Session. Movie~

Parents Meeting Session was great. Daddy and Mummy couldn't make it and yup, got sis to go instead. So well, no complains but praises. (:

Movie with sis and Shirlyn after the meeting. MADEofHONOR! It's hilarious and Patrick Dempsey is hot! "It takes a real man to be a maid of honor." Hah!

LAST DAY OF TERM 2!

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!
At least for now. I'm really excited about holidays. I'm not sure why but i just can't wait for it. Maybe it's just that i'd been deprived of having fun. Studies are taking up too much time. So well, books are off for hibernation and yeap, HOORAY! Despite having a holiday, i have got loads of things to do, attend and blah. But still, i'm gonna enjoy myself to max! geeezz!

School was great today! Kind of slacked throughout. Just a little filing here and there (P.S. Files are freaky). Farid disturbed during chinese lesson. Ms Tan was the relief teacher and he came in a few times to hand in stuff. Then, the 2nd time he came in, he told Ms Tan i using phone. I was like what!?!??! Grrhh.. Went out of class and strangled Farid! Chwan Rong and Ben Bey was there too. Haha. Chat while we walked to the first level. Chwuan Rong was asking me to pon. -.-"

Maths lesson was funny. The projector in our class have been faulty since ages ago and nothing has been done to it. We've been straining our eyes trying to see what's on the screen. Finally today, it is faulty to the extend whereby we can see nuts. So Mdm Nora decided to go com labs and yeap, the thing in com lab doesn't work as well. Sounds good to me. ^^So Mdm Nora just went through the chapters that we have to cover ourselves during the holiday briefly. We also did match making! A space was left beside cynthia and everyone took up the other space. Poor James have got no choice but to sit beside cynthia. Hah.

Rio Tinto Science competition after school. Oh great, i's so so so geography-ish that even geog students can't answer them! Come on' It's a science competition! Who cares about valleys, acidic soil and blah.

Training was as usual but we did beep test today. Improved. (: Court work was kind of slow today. I think i spent most of my time staring at how the ball was passed at the other end. Could've been faster...

We did practically nothing. Or maybe we did. Like some admin stuff during H3 while eating cheese cake, listening to Mdm Nora during maths, chat and eat chesse cake while waiting for height and weight to be taken during p.e, sort out file during physics, lollipop-ed, B&G, conferenced with zijian and joel during MT. Slack aren't we? That's the after exam life man!

Sunday! wee~

Mum actually said that we're not going back to malaysia today so we slept till quite late. Then in the noon, Dad suddenly change the plan and said that we're going back. Grrh. Adults just can't make up their mind. Went by Tuas and yep! No traffic jams~! Seafood for lunch and headed for Grandpa's. Slacked the rest of the afternoon and went swimming in the evening. I so love my cousins!

Level 3 leadership camp! woots!

SUPER GOOBER;
Level 3 leadership camp was really fun! Shall introduce my group first. :D

Profile of Group
Name: Goober
Members: TongJun, Farlyanna, Syafika, Hawa, ChinPang,Natasha, Azura, Benjamin Tan, Benjamin Soh, Aaron, Glen, Hazal, Gigi, WeiLoke, MingFang and YiHui.
Instructor: PeiYun
Strength: Super

First activity we did was the Multi-level Captain's Ball. It's rather similar to captain's ball just that we're playing against 2 groups at the same time and the ball we're using gets smaller and more. The sequence are as follows:
1. Basketball.
2. Basketball + Soccer ball.
3. Basketball + Soccer ball + 2 soft balls.
4. Basketball + Soccer ball + 2 soft balls + 2 plastic balls.
5. Basketball + Soccer ball + 2 soft balls + 2 plastic balls + ping pong ball.
The smaller the size, the higher the point. That explains why everyone has sudden interest in pingpong balls though they're so tiny. The last round was the bonus level and the ball was actually a raw chicken! After a few minutes of running after chicken and throwing it around like nobody's business, the chicken head came off and that small lil' head of the chicken freaking cost 2500 points!!! Everyone actually went crazy and started chasing after the chicken head. haha. My group was the overall champion of the game with the score of 28910( plus, minus)!

Dinner was next! Haha. Love it. People, namely, ZiJian,Terry, ChuanRong,JingEr were very interested in out dinner. LOL. Was like playing scissors paper stone for the meal. Too bad~ oh ya, did i mention that the food is really nice? geez!

After dinner, we were asked to do up rules for ourselves. Then, peiyun called me to find chief mojo. She said that he needs my help. So well, went over, and then, Eddy and Dhivien were chosen from their group as well. We followed and only to realise that we're heading for commerce room and yup, KIDNAPPED! We were chained up for both hands and legs. But it's loose, we slided our hands and legs out of the chain and slacked/entertain ourselves throughout. Only when we hear noises, then we slide our hands back in. Dhivien was the first one to get out. Followed by me then Eddy. The game didn't just end there. The whole group actually have to carry us down to the hall! So my job was to be a princess and yup, tada~ i'm at the hall!

Supper was great! Then was washing up. I was told to shower! They actually assumed that i wouldn't shower! Okay people, i did showered k! Slacked around in Council room. Was milo-ing~ After lights off, shuli,debbie, mich and i was actually chatting. But something else caught our attention and we actually started giggling after yihui's failure attempt to snore! It was kind of fake and very loud. I wonder how many was awake~

In the morning, my phone was suppose to ring at 6.30a.m. to wake everyone up! But by the time my phone sounded, everyone else was awake except for the 4 of us! LOL. I guess we giggled too much.

Washed up and breakfast! Then, we did games like the track/marble game and turn over a new leaf. I seriously think that track game is very challenging! After the games, we headed to AVA for the presentation. Every group was bombarded with questions . LOL. Next was lunch then casualty challenge. Gotta carry two person(Hazel and Glen) throughout the whole challenge and run around the whole school finding things that represent letter A-Z. LOL. It was tiring but fun. We practically take whatever we find. Like the hose at the washing area of canteen vendors, the other group even took the old school skirt from the exhibit! Thanks a lot to ChuanRong for the Ez-link card and security uncle for the key and visitor pass!

Area cleaning was next! We didn't really do much for area cleaning. Like nothing to clean! haha! So we slacked around, then gathered back in the hall. Took photos, collect camp shirt and BREAK CAMP! We did cheer downstairs. Love it! Dinner-ed at KFC and yup, home la!

Caregroup.

Caregroup today at MeiFen's. So miss caregroup and was so glad to be there. This after exam life, is really awesome. (: From noon till late at night, SMSes and phone calls just keep on coming in like nobody's business. Everyone's like asking me this, asking me that, and i have to SMS and call whoever i have to or whoever i was asked to. This busy life is back and i'm definitely loving it more than exam. :D

Seoul garden with peeps!

Yihui wasn't late today! 3 cheers for her! Yep, i was there on time! Aizal and ZiJian was early. Not because they're usually early but because the stupid ZiJian thought we're meeting at 11 when it's 11.30. LOL.

Seoul garden was yummy~ and ' What happens in Vegas.' is super funny. Someone was smiling at certain scenes. You people know what i'm talking about. Love biscuits, muffin, twinkle monkeys. Haha. I shall not elaborate.

Uber slack monday~

The exam free monday doesn't seem as fun as it suppose to be. I have got nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing to do and i seriously needa get my butt off that sofa of mine and get out of the house. So well, called sisters, i understand siying's plight, michelle's too engross with her toy and joel's busy with facial ( Gay isn't it?). Left weiloke and i, so we decided to go starbucks to slack. Accompany him to Nokia to collect his phone then off to starbucks. It was super boring but enjoy the joking and commenting. Heh. Joel came afterwards and brought his Charis along. By saying that he brought her along, i didn't mean literally. So yea, slacked from like 1.00-5.30p.m. When we're about to leave,

yihui: So weiloke, what exactly did we do today? Like we did nothing AT ALL!

Mother's day!

Happy Mother's Day and Happy non-studying Sunday!

I had been struggling on sundays especially during the exam period. I've gotta get myself to focus on studying and not get distracted. But well, this sunday is not the same anymore! It's the after exam sunday! I practically slacked the whole day and eat the whole way through. I'm loving this kind of after exam life. (:

Had cake as usual. It's the Mother's Day cake and yea, the oldest mum gets to cut it and yup, that's Grandma! heh. Taught kids to sing birthday song the mother's day version. Way to go yihui!

There's really pretty orangy carnations on the cake!

Mother's day service~

Was suppose to soccer with guys? and i like woke up late and yep, played basketball after their game. LOL. They were like calling since morning and when i woke up there were like 10plus miss calls? hah.

Met JinLin at da traffic light and headed for cwp. Debbie was already there at last cabin! JiaLing was late as usual and YanXia was latest. I was kind of way too high all the way from woodlands to somerset. Maybe it's the after exam madness. Heh.

Sermon was awesome today. I think our mum have been doing lots of things for us and have been making sure that every single thing in our life goes the right way. As time goes by, we just happen to take things for granted. We often think that it's okay to not thank our mum since it'd been a routine. And because of that, we often forget to show care and spend time with our mum. So well people, take this opportunity to show your love for your mum!

It's PARTAYE!

am feeling good now;
Like who's not? Exam's over and it's party!

A-maths was okay. Guessed last minute morning revision does help a little. Thanks ChoonHan for trying to help and "thanks" Terry for disturbing. After paper, everyone somehow cheered! Trust me, that is the bestest moment. Somehow felt really relief. phew~ But let's face it, we still have got e-learning next week. Like, such a waste of time and i bet, everyone will start discussing answers on MSN.

Stayed for level 3 CCA heads meeting.We( Sports group) made lost of noise during the discussion. haha. TongJun, stop your passionNERD thing okay.... Then michelle and i went cwp to find sinnie,meinnie,phynnie, vinus and jiamin. They had mac breakfast!!! Argh.. I didn't manage to catch breakfast so had usual double cheese plain instead. and and and.. the special order sticker is back! i'm lovin mcdonalds again~



Peiting,joel,weiloke,nickie,zj, kaiyuan,tanay came a while later. Kind of taking to much space. LOL. Then the NNIE's are all going home so left me slacking with zj and joel. Played psp and i got really bored because i keep on losing. grh.Then walked around~


Movie-ed. 'Iron Man'. haha. It's nice la~ Sinnie, you should've watched! LOL. So ya, after movie, Joel showed the womenly side of thim when he walked right through the Mary Chia roadshow. The sales girl was like practically staring at him.

Physics MYE

How about screwed up physics paper and dying of boredom. Yea, that's what i'm feeling now. Physic's screwed and i'm bored. Tomorrow's A-maths paper but i'm so not in the mood to revise. It's like the exam mood is totally gone. All i'm waiting for is partying tomorrow after the paper. That will be my happiest moment of the week or even the month! Nothing can get better than that.

E-maths 2 & biology,

E-Maths 2 was kind of okay today. I mean yesterday. Quite a few careless mistake and i was laughed at. -.-" Bio just can't get any better, stoned for 1 hour. I just looked around and see no one stone-ing. I was like why am i so fast? Did i left out anything? Checked and continue pondering why i finished so fast. Peeped at neighbours. All of them are like writing eassays. Not sure which question they are doing but i just saw a whole chunk of words in a paragragh. Compared to my answers, it's abouy ratio of 1:4. Oh great, i'm so gonna be the bio loser. But well, i saw Mervin and weiloke stone-ing a while later and figured it out that there's nothing really wrong about doing fast. hah.

Slacked at home and was suppose to go for prayer meet but mum don't allow. The it's-exam-period-and-you-have-to-study crap again. So told her i'll go jogging instead, since jogging won't take me too much time and i claimed that i really need to exercise so i was allowed to go "jogging". Smart me. heh. sms-ed jinlin, she didn't reply and so, went basketball with Joel, Aizal, ZJ, Aaron, Kelvin instead. We played for quite long and i reached home at about 7 but mum didn't ask anything about why i took so long or bla. haha. She must have figured it out that i need lots of exercise to distress.

Showered and watched tv while trying to get physics into my brain and let it stay. The chiong for exam mood is not there anymore. awww~ Watched war of in-law and told mum that she should be lucky for not having a son. if not she'll have to to experience that type of war too! haha. Okay, back to physics, it's still not getting into my brain and watching playhouse disney ain't helping. They asked kid to float, grab something that is IN the TV and pretend that they are astronauts! The show is nice but it got me engage in pretending to float and grab something imaginary and that's bad. So switched to disney channel instead but it ain't helping either. I actually got my eyes stuck onto the TV for whole 6 hours watching movies and cartoons. Watched "The Kid" and "The mighty ducks.". It's about 1plus now and nothing about physics is in my brain yet. I so need to get started and i guess i'll just do that when i wake up later on.. zzzzzzzzzz....

Chemistry and History paper. DIE~

Staring into thin air again but well, not the waiting-for-exam-to-start thing. It is after i'm done with ALL the questions. History paper was 1 and half hour and literally stoned for 40 minutes because i simply know nuts about stressman. Like, is he a friend of stalin or lenin? The good guy or the bad guy? Hah. So i practically did nothing, just looked around and observe people. I think i was the only one stone-ing. The rest of the History students are like writing and writing. That's it. So gonna flunk~

In the process of stone-ing, there was disturbance... Mr Low walked passed and saw my paper

and "tsk" at me and gave me the i-am-laughing-at-you kind of look. What do you expect me to do? Like draw how stressman look like on the answer paper? or write 100 times 'i don't know how to do'? I was really hoping that he would burst into laughter but he just walked away.hah.

Chemistry paper was kind of okay. I could answer all the questions except for Section C. I think i totally screwed up section C. awww man~

Bus-ed with yuan^3 and home. I was suppose to start studying like half an hour ago but i'm still blogging. This is so not going to continue. So i shall stop and start bio-ing~

Study @ 888 KFC

Imagine wasting 13 minutes of your life staring into thin air while waiting for the clock to change to 8.15. I could've used that time to revise for my social studies or something. -.-". That's waiting-for-exam-to-start for you. Almost fell asleep. zzzz~ They should have some programme to entertain us during that few minutes. I don't mind OMMS. I shall introduce my neighbours. Social studies today is like &*%*#^*&^*(^$*)^$*^#*%#@%($&)^%(^)@&^@ and I practically screwed up the maths paper. Careless mistake! argh. I'm so gonna get killed. ):

Met up with Ms Milhan after school and looked through the AAR and talked a little about SC maincomm 2009. LOL. I'm so excited about it but well, exam first!!! Then went to 888 KFC to study with sec3 SCmaincomm plus aizal. Weiloke commented " It is surprising that zijian is more hardworking than the 3 of you( refering to joel, aizal and me.)." haha! Then joel and aizal started taking photo and blablabla~ Shall post some of them!

Chinese paper.

Chinese paper is sssssssooooooooooooooooo easy that i'm very sure that i'll have to change class. LOL. Sense the sarcasm. Yea, yihui is so passing her chinese and Denzel, yihui is so gonna win you by 1 mark! heh. Well, i guess i shall stop the chinese-is-so-easy thing and start revising for other paper.
