Secondary One Orientation Camp 2008!

The camp ended today and we officially stepped down from MainComm duties. (: I really enjoyed working together with all the MainComms. Be it during the planning or camp, it's always fun with them. I really got to know each and everyone of them as well as learning from them. Things learnt include things i already know and things i ought to know. It's really great learning from them and it definitely help me be in character or attitude wise.

Things i was reminded about:

1. Do what was said by oneself.

Whatever you'd said, you do. Whatever you command people to do, you do. I think that to be the salt & light , and to teach your sheeps the right thing, you have to do what you say. When you do whatever you say and follow it closely, the others will too.

2. Command and not Demand.

The Boss demand respect, the leader command respect. For some reason or another, i kind of learnt from both demanding as well as commanding. Commanding for respect is hard, that's why most of the time people demand for it. It's hard to command but it can be done. It's the way you do it.

3. A team win and lose together.

A sucessful team, is a team that win for their teammates and never quit; even if they lose. During the camp, some of the groups really reminded me about that quote that a team wins and loses game together. They win it for their team, they stay on for, their team. They cheer each other on, they coorporate with one another. They cheer and give their all even when they didn't win. That is what a team is all about. Win together, lose together. - Teammates.

That's basically camp. Camp objectives: Met. (:

Continue from the last post, i went surfing the net and then realise that the net can't get any more boring than that, we went in to the media room and watched fantastic 4. Haha. I fell asleep while watching. Went to sleep for 1 hour before rise and shine! 1 hour, it's more like a nap.

Then we gathered at parade square as usual for flag raising. MainComm fall in! LOL. Stood in a line directly infront of the podium, so funny la. Then was morning exercise. Then chicken dance! Love it. But morning was kind of cold, was like so cold while doing the dance. haha. Next was the breakfast we'd awaited for long! Love eating. (: Right after breakfast, everyone was like moving chairs and tables and bla to prepare for the station games. It's quite fun though, asking people to go back and restart. HAHA. But be very sure, i'm fair ok, and i'm lenient too. WAHAHA. Then we have had lunch then erm we went for CCA. Suppose to challenge joel and his guys to a match but it rained while i was watching the performance in the hall. LOL. So cancelled.

After we're back from CCA, we started the RS dance. Love it. I always get so high over this kind of funny dances. Haha. Then was teaching of cheers session. Managed to teach everything we need for campfire. Way to go C3! Just in case you don't know, C3 stands for Camp Cheer committee! Haha. Then was flag lowering then dinner! Almost all MainComm rushed through dinner due to the need of preparation.

Campfire was an awesome experience! Got to be the emcee together with Kelvin. The sequence and stuff was changed. We started off badly because GOH arrival was the first thing. That was really shocking and was kind of not sure what to do. But well, managed to get everything done and managed to drag time here and there. HAHA. Taught the campers the a-w-w-w. awww~ while the OGLs speak about their own group. Some of their speech are really touching. It was a job well done by all MainComm!(:

After campfire, i've got 2 duties, toilet duty as well as cheer leading duty. Was asked to go for the cheer leading duty and peiting got vinus to replace me for the other one. Thanks. Next we showered and while eating supepr. We were told that we've got tubs of ice-creams from Ms Milhan and Ms Fu. LOL. It's really big tube. I started challenging people on eating the ice-cream. The highlight of the whole ice-cream eating is when yonglin mixed everything together in his mouth! It was really gross. Then he started mixing the remainders here and there, dirtying the tables, cover and stuff. LOL. Trust me, that wasn't yonglin.

Then we were back to the library. Everyone was gathering around the table in a circle and was discussing about "pcc". I wasn't sure what exactly it was so just said portable cam corder and everyone laughed. LOL. Benson is even worse, Pasir ris community club. -.-" We crapped for very long and till quite late. Everyone went to sleep after that but i didn't feel like sleeping. Played scrabble with yonglin while Tavin and Nickie watched. Tavin fell asleep first then yonglin. Nickie and i went to sleep after realising that they fell asleep. It's very hard to differentiate whether yonglin is asleep or awake. LOL. Sleep at about 3. Was a about 3 hours sleep. So total camp sleeping hour = 4 hour. haha.

Then we woke up at about 6 and went to parade square and yl told us go up and make sure they arrange the tables and chairs back to the correct manner. Was with Jinger and Szeling. Lift-ed,again.Then was national anthem and school song. MainComm as usual, fal in and formed a straight line at the front. Haha. " MainComm fall in!" LOLs. So uniform group style. Next was morning exercise. The stretching exercise followed by chicken dance! Love chicken dance!(:

Next was breakfast and i was asked to entertain the campers, again. haha. We did cheers and the usual stuff. We proceed for room clearing right after that. After room clearing was the PSL talk. While the campers have their PSL talk, we were asked to check every class for correct number or chairs. This time was grouped with Tavin and Kelvin. The EMCEEs! LOL. Move tables and chairs here and there. It was pretty tiring, plus the fact that i didn't have enough sleep, 3 chairs was like so heavy to me then. Hah. After everything was done, it was area cleaning! Lead class 1/6 and 1/8 together with szeling, ben S and Jinkai. It was so so slack. We ended up spending most of our time cheering.HAHA. After area cleaning, we were back to the hall, distribute this and that then Camp was officially declare close by Mdm Soh. OGLs stayed for their debrief while we went to clear up OPS room. While clearing up, we started cheering and cheering and we were still not over with the camp.

We came up with new cheer and siyuan taught us new Gako Frog Hokian Version. It made us laugh like mad. My grandma is rich. LOL

Then we were backed to the hall for MainComm debrief. Terry and i was still so high over camp, haha. Damn high, cheered again and debrief by Mdm Soh.

Then almost all the MainComm went macdonald and literally flooded it. There were OGLs too! We did the hungry cheer in mcdonalds anyway, not loudly but just normal speaking volume. We're considerate.(: While eating, we started clapping one another's straw to break it and Donald actually took up Terry's challenge for drinking milo with that straw he broke. Donald won anyway! haha. PRO!

When we were at level one, someone mentioned about today being WeiQin's birthday. So we started calling WeiQin one by one and said the same line.

" Hello, i'm yihui. Happy Birthday! Bye."

Everyone did the same thing. About 15 of us. LOL. One after another. It was so funny la. I think he would only expect until 6 people or so only but never did he realised that it's like 10plus people there. Haha. Walked home together with SzeLing, Ben B, Elaine, SiYuan and Patricia. Thanks SzeLing for walking us all the way there! (:

When i got home, i showered and lied on my bed preparing to sleep when mum came in and told me that we're going out. Right, anytime but this time. So slept in the car all the way to SGH then actually i was too tired to even bother about food but as we walked around, food just make me feel awake. HAH. Went delifrance and was wanting to drink soup but too bad, the soup of the day is corn soup. EWW. Then we started figuring the "letter box" and walked around exploring. Dad's friend joined us for dinner after that and when i was home, i rushed my homework and stuff. It was really tiring. It 's 11plus now, i guess i needa sleep. Cannot take it already. But my homework still undone. I know it's bad. heh.
